Exporting & Trade: Dr. Freeman has previously served on the U.S. Export Import Bank’s Advisory Board for two terms and has served as an advisor to the Secretary of Commerce and US Trade Representative on trade matters pertaining to small and minority businesses since 1991. Dr. Freeman has also written multiple books on exporting, including the only book that has ever analyzed US Census data to reveal the proclivity of exporting to home countries by US immigrants and of firms owned by underserved populations. She has operated an exporting advocacy company, the All American Small Business Exporters Association (AASBEA) since 1996. She leads training efforts of the firm in all matters pertaining to exporting and importing and in so doing draws on her practitioner experience in working in a major trading house in Hong Kong starting in 1985.
